ForestSphere Project Presented at the University of Coimbra

On 18 December 2025, OneSource presented the ForestSphere project at the University of Coimbra, within the Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI), following an invitation from a faculty member. The session took place in the scope of the subject “Mobile Networks and the Internet of Things”, engaging master’s students in Informatics Engineering and researchers in a discussion on the application of Digital Twin technologies to forest management and wildfire risk assessment. The presentation highlighted the project’s ongoing work on integrating multimodal and multiscale data from ground sensors, aerial platforms, and satellite remote sensing, as well as the role of Artificial Intelligence in enabling high-resolution forest mapping, real-time monitoring, and predictive analyses. The session also served as an opportunity to exchange perspectives with the academic community and to showcase how Digital Twin–based approaches can support more informed and effective decision-making in forest and wildfire management.

ForestSphere apresentado no Army Innovation Day, no PCI – Creative Science Park, em Aveiro

OneSource took part in the Army Innovation Day, an innovation event held at PCI – Creative Science Park, Aveiro, with the participation of the Portuguese Army and other relevant stakeholders. During the event, OneSource showcased ForestSphere, a project focused on developing a Forest Digital Twin that combines real-time data, advanced sensing technologies, and artificial intelligence to support forest monitoring and wildfire risk management. The solution enables a dynamic and detailed representation of forest environments, improving situational awareness and decision-making. The presentation highlighted the relevance of ForestSphere for military use, particularly in missions related to environmental monitoring, wildfire prevention and response, and support to civil protection authorities. By providing predictive insights and up-to-date information, the platform can help optimize resource allocation and enhance coordination in complex operational scenarios. Participation in the Army Innovation Day reinforced the importance of collaboration between technology providers and defense institutions, demonstrating the role of digital twin technologies in strengthening environmental resilience and operational readiness.
